Welcome to the latest release highlights for SAP Best Practices for SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for Supply Chain. In this blog, we will showcase the key enhancements and updates available with release 2411.
Several new enhancements have been added to the SAPIBP1 sample planning area.
For several releases, we have been providing sample analytics stories as part of the SAP Best Practices content. With the new application job template, Import Best Practice Analytics Stories, you can import these analytic stories from the SAPIBP1 and SAP7F sample planning areas into your current planning area. This feature allows you to use the SAP Best Practices analytic stories as templates for your own content creation. Since the SAP Best Practices analytic stories are based on the sample planning areas and sample data issues may arise, such as non-existent filter values or renamed/deleted attributes or key figures used in charts. Therefore, adjustments might be necessary before these stories can be effectively utilized. For more details you can check SAP Note 3512485.
The IBP Best Practices – inventory planner story has been upgraded with eight new charts. These charts provide comparisons of historical and actual lead times and highlighting the top 10 and bottom 10 lead time differences for both transportation and production. To support this, additional key figures have been incorporated into SAPIBP1.
Another highlight is the introduction of a new powerful analytic story for supply planners based on SAP7F planning area. This analytics story is designed to enhance solution processes like IBP for response and supply – response planning (2P0), IBP for response and supply – supply planning – OBP optimizer (42C), and IBP for response and supply – shelf life planning (6WZ). It equips supply planners with a detailed overview of KPIs, enabling them to make data-driven decisions.
Here are some screenshots to provide an impression of the sample analytic stories. The structure mirrors other preconfigured analytics stories: beginning with an overview page that highlights key figures and essential information, followed by a series of more detailed and specific pages:
A new preconfigured planner workspace tailored for supply planners is now available. The new planner workspace features sample views for the essential tasks of a supply planner, along with the capability to manage tasks assigned to them. It can be used in the solution processes IBP for sales and operations - supply Review – heuristic (2BS) and IBP for response and supply – supply review – TS-based supply optimizer (18N).
A new page has been incorporated to the existing sample analytic story for supply chain risks. This page highlights external risks using data from our partner Everstream. The charts provide maximum risks scores for each location, risk family and a weekly score.
