In IBP for Response and Supply we offer with Release 1805 a lot of new features and functions for the order-based planning process such as:

Basic Fair Share

In case of limited supply multiple sets of demands should be handled with same priority and supply should be allocated to the demands based on a given ratio for the sets.

Demands can be grouped based on characteristic value combination on a given OBP planning level. The level defines the business aspect of the competition for available supply, for example, that location materials compete against each other.

Within the segment of the demand prioritization rule it is defined, whether the affected demands should be fulfilled using fair share or one after another following the sequence definition.

Demand Fair-Share distribution of supply can be applied to forecast and sales order demands. It is not available for other demand types e.g. safety stock.

Demand fulfillment takes place in a round-robin manner between the sets. The give supply chain model with sources of supply, constraints and planning parameters is considered.

Demand Fair Share is supported in Confirmation Run, Constraint Forecast Runs and Deployment Run.

Freeze Horizon

With Freeze horizons you can keep your planned supply stable (frozen) for the near future in order to improve the interaction with distribution/production

For further information see Documentation for Freeze Horizon

New SAP Fiori app Supply Chain Dependencies

With this app you can analyze supply chain connections in the order-based data model.

For a given material you can find all materials with dependencies. While the Response planning run considers these dependencies when calculating plans, the app Supply Chain Dependencies displays the information to the planer.

The app shows dependencies via component list, connecting transportation lanes, shared resources and shared supplier constraints. Nested dependencies are considered, e.g. material X and Y can each require components that share a common resource when produced.

Instead of analyzing master data dependencies by querying the apps for Location Material, Transportation Lane or Production Data Structure separately, you can use the app Supply Chain Dependencies to quickly understand how your supply chain is connected.

Geo Charts on IBP order based Planning Areas

In SAP7 and SAP74 Planning Areas geocoding information is introduced to display data on GeoMaps.

Geo coordinates are pre-calculated in case of Data Integration from SAP ERP and S/4.

Snapshots in Versions

A new indicator on versions can be set to enable a version for version-specific master data in order-based planning.

The new indicator can be set when version-specific master data is enabled in the planning area version.

The application job ‘Order-Based Planning: Copy Version Data’ will also copy master data from the source version when the target version is set to support version-specific master data.

By this the target version becomes a snapshot (full copy of master and order data) of the source version. Master data changes in the source version will not affect the data in the target version.
