System provisioning for SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain (SAP IBP) involves setting up all necessary environments and gaining access to them to begin the project implementation.

First things to consider:

  • With the SAP IBP subscription, customers receive a 2-tier landscape with a transport mechanism between Test system and Productive system.
  • When the SAP IBP subscription contract is signed, the customer nominates a Technical Administrator, also referred to as the IT Contact.
  • Regardless of which authorized s-user performs the request in SAP for Me, only the IT Contact receive the provisioning email(s) to complete the process.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to complete your SAP IBP provisioning process. It is recommended that customers start by requesting the Test System. When the times come, the Production System can be requested following the same steps.

Provisioning Steps

  1. Log in to SAP for Me (S-user required).
  2. Go the Systems & Provisioning dashboard and select Provisioning tab.
  3. Find the SAP IBP system under “System to be Provisioned” and click "Start Provisioning".

The provisioning request status changes to "In Process" and is typically completed within 48 hours. Once provisioned, the status updates to “Provisioning Triggered”.

   4. On the date of the trigger, the following emails are sent to the IT Contact:
     A. System Access Info for SAP IBP Email
     B. Activation Info for SAP Cloud Identity Services Email*
*if you already have an existing SAP Cloud Identity Services, no email is sent and SAP IBP will be connected to an existing tenant (based on your in step 3). More details here.

   5. Access Identity Authentication Service URL (available in the emails A and B).
   6. Set up User and Password. Login is completed.
   7. Access SAP IBP System URL (available in email A). Use the same credentials from previous step. Login is completed.
Note: the URL looks like: https://myxxxxxx.scmibp1.ondemand.com
   8. Use “Maintain employees” and “Business users“ applications to create additional users.
   9. Download the csv file with the new users.
   10. Logon in the Identity Authentication Service, find the SAP IBP connection and upload the csv file.
   11. Press „Send activation e-mail“ button.
   12. New users will receive an activation email to access the SAP IBP system.

Provisioning of the requested SAP IBP System is now completed, and additional users can access the system.

  • Don’t know who is your IT Contact? Reach out your SAP contact or contact Customer Interaction Center.
  • Do you want to change your IT Contact or are facing issues with provisioning? Submit a case via SAP for Me (use component SCM-IBP-OPS-SRV).
