Set-up Alert Management in SAP Transportation Management.

The alert management is a tool from SAP (Alert Monitor | SAP Help Portal) which provides numerous functions for handling alerts, such as representation rules, escalation, or notification using external communication methods.

Can be use e.g. in TM, EWM, Queue Monitor.

In this blog will explain how in SAP TM you can use the standard tool to send alert from some par of the process by email.

In alert management the Determines Recipients, can be used in 3 different possibilities.

  • Fixed Recipients
  • Subscription Authorization
  • Recipients Via User Roles

 Open the transaction ALRTCATDEF- Editing Alert Categories and go in the folder TM: Alert in Execution, in this part you will three standard types of alerts. I will use the TMS_TOR_GENERIC_ALERT.

1º Select the Alert category.

2ºDefinition of the properties.

3ºContainer (Technical part).

4ºText Information.

After you define the alert, you will use make sure in the Text Information is available, otherwise you will get the email but without any number of the Freight Document in the emails body. In case there is any text go the Container tab follow the steps bellow.

After these steps make sure your DEF_CHACO - Default Change Strategy, have these 2 steps add in:

  1. CHACOALPRP- Prepare Alerts for time, location, quantity change.
  2. CHACOALERT - Issue Alert for Change Controller

Even a Keyuser receipts an email, will be requested to open the Transaction ALRTINBOX - Alert Inbox which will open a page in the browser to see more details and take actions.

Rogerio_Lima_4-1717143759342.pngOn the browser Key user can take an action, this means Key user can Not navigate from Alert management to any TM Object. Here key User will set as Complete, forward the alert. (Monitoring Alerts).
