This blog provides an overview of the innovations released for SAP Field Service Management in 2402.
In the 2402 release, we have introduced several enhancements to elevate user experience, improve integration, and enrich feature functionality. Visualize Service Regions via Polygons
Schedulers and dispatchers can visualize territories and assign any incoming jobs based on defined service territories to respective technicians. This enhances operational efficiency by providing a clear and geographically intuitive overview of service areas, allowing businesses to optimize technician dispatch and scheduling based on proximity. Additionally, visualizing service regions enhances real-time monitoring of field activities, allowing for quicker response times to emergencies or changing priorities. This feature enables customers to bring in their territory polygon data from their spatial systems to SAP Field Service Management using FSM Cloud Spatial Service (CRUD supported) to enable better visualization of service territories assigned to technicians and overlayed with field service objects (Activity, Equipment, People). Dispatching Board Enhancements – New Best Matching Technician UI
The 2402 release offers several enhancements to the Dispatching Board to enhance user experience, readability, and overall productivity. Before going into some of the specific highlights, I encourage you to watch the demo video below:
Quick View of Technician Details
Schedulers now have the ability to click on a technician record next to planning board enabling them to view additional details of the technician.
View Activity Information on Hover
Schedulers now have the possibility to quickly retrieve activity and service call details by hovering over an activity, thus reducing clicks and providing faster access to information.
New Activity Side Bar
The updated Activity Side Bar offers a more intuitive user experience when planning activities. Users are also able to configure the displayed activity information via screen configurations.
New Best Matching Technician UI
The updated look and feel of the Best Matching Technician UI offers a more comprehensive and intuitive user experience, allowing for better readability and clear differentiation of the best possible assignment, as well as a reduction of clicks via direct access to actions on each card.
Integrate SuccessFactors Skill Master Data and Proficiency in SAP Field Service Management
In this release, we have added the option to integrate SAP Field Service Management with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, and easily replicate skills from SAP Master Data Integration Service. Customers can use pre-configured capabilities to transfer master data into SAP Field Service Management through the SAP Master Data Integration service, making the synchronization of master data objects simpler and improving overall data consistency. Enhanced Data Validation & Quality in Smartforms
Users now can now benefit from several enhancements introduced to improve data quality in Smartforms. While we already have the capability to support number and text validation, we now support input validation for Date/Time Pickers. When configuring Smartforms, users can also specify a validation message when the expression criteria is not met. These features are designed to help organizations improve data quality by having users validate the data before saving the Smartform, and to provide technicians with an easy to understand validation message on what is expected in the data. Support for enhanced functions on calculation element
We have expanded the capabilities of the calculation element to include support for additional mathematical functions such as SIN, COS, TAN, and SQRT. The enhanced functionality allows end users to perform complex calculations, providing a fast way to solve trigonometric and square root equations. For more information, see here.
