Another month has passed and the 2407 release went live over the past weekend. This blog post gives you an overview of the month’s release highlights.

The blog is intended for shippers and solution owners, carriers, and data providers as well as sales and presales colleagues who already have a detailed understanding of SAP Business Network for Logistics.

Cross SAP Business Network for Logistics

Integration platform migration

We are making further progress with regards to integration platform migration to the SAP BTP multi-cloud environment. It is now available on US20 and EU10 landscapes, both for test and productive systems.

Please find the published documentation related to migration of SAP BN4L integration platform below:

To support the migration the following UI changes were implemented in the ‘System Connections’ app for shippers and solution owners:

  • ‘Connections’:
    • The single connections are now grouped by connection type.
    • From the banner, you can navigate to the Integration Platform Migration Guide for Premium Users (link provided above).
  • ‘Inbound to Network’: We introduced a new field with the timestamp of the last update and added a ‘Refresh’ icon because the certificate update is now an asynchronous activity.

The following inbound connection statuses are now available: ‘In Progress’ and ‘Error’.

  • ‘Manage Cloud Connector Details’: The ‘SAP Users’ heading was renamed as ‘SAP User ID or Email ID’
  • ‘Outbound from Network’: For active authentication type Cloud Connector with Basic Authentication, the ‘SAP User ID’ drop down menu was renamed as ‘Email ID’ for new connections. The values are filtered by Email ID.
  • ‘Manage Cloud Connection Details’:
    • There are separate tabs for Locations and SAP Users (instead of two tables on the same page)
    • The ‘SAP Users’ column was renamed as ‘SAP User ID or Email ID’.
  • Further, the following UI changes were implemented in the ‘System Connections’ app for carriers and data contributors:
  • The ‘Configure Inbound Connections’ link was renamed as ‘Connection Settings’ because you can now also make settings for outbound connections.
  • Under ‘Connection Settings’, we now have separate sections for inbound and outbound.
  • In the new Integration Platform dropdown list, you can choose from the following values:
    • Neo (old) – set per default
    • Multi-Cloud (new)

Availability of platform for SAP Business Network Business Profile

The platform is now available on EU10 as well as US 20 data centers.

SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration

Contracting: external planning enhancements

When the shipper changes the carrier information in their external system, the system updates SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration with the updated carrier details. This cancels the freight unit for the old carrier and a freight unit is created for the new carrier.

Contracting: new fields in ‘Freight Order for Confirmation’ application

Carriers have several new fields in the ‘Freight Order for Confirmation’ worklist and detail view.

The first group of new fields are:

  • ‘Normalized Quantity’ and
  • ‘Additional Normalized Quantity’

In addition, another group of new fields is now available in the filter and worklist area:

  • ‘Requested Loading Start Date Time’
  • ‘Requested Loading End Date Time’
  • ‘Acceptable Loading Start Date Time’
  • ‘Acceptable Loading End Date Time’
  • ‘Requested Loading Duration’

SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace

Special character ‘+’ now supported in API

The read and write service APIs now support the special character “+”. As a result, information that contains this character can be processed and interpreted successfully, for example, mobile number.

Retention settings now only on ‘tracked process’

The retention settings are now defined on tracked processes only, rather than on both tracked processes and events. This improves the performance and user experience when sending data to the blocking store in SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace.

Note that the retention settings of existing events are still valid.

Track Shipments app: display ‘Actual Departure Time’

On the worklist page of the Track Shipments app, you can now filter shipments by ‘Actual Departure Time and see this information in the corresponding column of the worklist. On the details page, you can also display the field with the Adapt UI function.
