SAP Asset Intelligence Network 2112 Release – What’s New?

This blog post provides an overview of key innovations in the 2112 Release of SAP Asset Intelligence Network. On December 12, 2021, we released exciting new SAP Asset Intelligence Network innovations for our customers.

Let me share some of the key highlights from the SAP Asset Intelligence Network 2112 Release:-

Latest Innovations – Collaborative Maintenance and Service

Display date times for Notifications

• The times associated with date time fields are shown on the UI


• APIs have also been enhanced to return the time associated with the date time fields

Share Work Orders and Notifications from list pages

• Work orders and notifications can be shared from their respective list pages


• User can make use of existing filters on list pages to filter out the objects to be shared

Latest Innovations – Master Data Handover

Support multiple Industry Standard versions

• Option to maintain multiple versions of an Industry Standard on the Template objects


• The descriptions in the Industry Standard selection now also contain the version

Latest Innovations – Enterprise Readiness

New Equipment Search UI

• The new UI has been enhanced to display the filters in the left pane of the screen


• The equipment data are listed in a tabular format with separate columns for the different fields


• The columns can be sorted and filtered directly on the column header

Visualisation of Spare Part description in Spare Part selection window

• To facilitate the selection of the right Spare Part (i.e. by assigning a Spare Part successor), the Spare Part description is now provided in the Spare Part selection window

Public KAFKA event for submitted Equipment Request

• A public KAFKA event is provided for submitted Equipment Request


• This event can be used to enhance the integration between AIN and manufacturers’ back-end systems and to trigger the creation and sharing of Equipment out of an Equipment Request

Public API for Equipment Search

• New API available to search equipment based on basic header fields as well as attributes that characterise the equipment

Public API for DELETE External Organisation

• Deletion of External Organisation is now possible via a dedicated public REST API
