S/4 HANA Product Master and SCM Integration

WIth the stack extension of SCM in SAP S/4 HANA , there was on overlap of two Product Masters in SAP S/4 HANA, maintainable with S/4 Product Master as well as APO Product Master in two different set of database tables ( Product Master tables and APO tables ).

To avoid double data footprint and to unify the approach of single Product Master in S/4 HANA,

SAP S/4 HANA 1610 release offers a Product Master application to maintain Product Master along with APO relevant data which comes with the following set of advantages -

1.) Simplification of Data Model - Data will be maintained only in Product Master(MARA, MARC, ..) tables but will be available in APO tables(/SAPAPO/MATKEY , /SAPAPO/MATLOC ...)  as well, and this is achieved with the help of redirect views.

2.) CIFing of Products to APO is no longer required.

3.) Create has been disabled to create an active product in APO transaction /SAPAPO/MAT1 and change is enabled only to update APO specific data.



4.) The APIs of APO Product master maintenance has been adjusted with this integration.

5.) S/4 HANA Product Master DB tables has been adjusted with inclusion of non - overlapping fields to provide a seamless integration with APO Product Master.



 



 

6.) New fields which were not overlapped has been included in S/4 Product Master application in a new facet "Advanced Planning" where a checkbox "Advanced Planning" indicates whether the Product is relevant to be available in APO.



 

7.) Classification data of S/4 HANA Product Master is integrated with APO Product Master CDP classification data.
