How it works
It’s simple. As shown in Figure 1, when supplier sustainability declarations are received as part of the ‘Inbounds’ process in Green Token, the declarations are automatically validated, and relevant data is extracted. This information is added to the corresponding inbound delivery line items, ready for further use in subsequent Green Token processes. As a user, you’ll primary see the results, with the process running autonomously in the background.

A practical example
Figure 2 presents an example of an ISCC PLUS declaration. ISCC PLUS-certified organizations manage hundreds if not thousands of these supplier declarations each year when procuring certified sustainable materials. Extracting data from each declaration is required for tracing and accounting for the sustainability attributes of inbound materials, and once processed, the outbound materials.
Traditionally, most companies handle this manually via Excel, often requiring dedicated full-time employees. However, as volumes of certified sustainable materials grow, so does the need for an efficient, automated, and reliable solution.
Green Token’s ‘AI-assisted declaration image analysis’ feature automatically validates the highlighted data in Figure 2 to check for completeness and accuracy by, for example, identifying missing or incorrect information. 🔍 Subsequently, the relevant data is extracted from the supplier declarations and recorded as part of the corresponding inbound delivery line items.
Release Details
The beta version of the ‘AI-assisted declaration image analysis’ feature is launched in January 2025 for a select group of customers. Developed with SAP AI Core service on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and powered by the GPT-4o learning model, the feature is set for general release in H1 2025. This initial release will support ISCC PLUS declaration templates (versions 3.5.3 and 3.5.4) in PDF format, ensuring continuous compliance with evolving industry standards. ⚖️ Additional use-cases and enhancements will be considered to further expand the feature’s capabilities.
