SAP Installation with liveCache

In the Installation central page, you can find several comprehensive technical documents organized by area and release. Master, Installation, Upgrade Configuration and System Copy Guides are available. Note that whenever an SAP installation takes place there are several pre-requirements that should be performed, so SAP recommendation is to proceed exactly according to the required guide to avoid any issue. The guides can be downloaded from the link:

 SAP liveCache Patching

Unix/Linux and Microsoft Windows Platforms: SAP liveCache Patches

The latest SAP liveCache patches are available on SWDC. It is recommended to install the latest patch.

Before applying a SAP liveCache patch, always check whether the downloaded version matches the minimum requirement of the installed SCM Version and SP level. For this, please read the SAP notes:

2074842 - Matrix of liveCache Versions for SCM 7.02 and Later
2074841 - Matrix of liveCache Versions for SCM 7.00 and 7.01

Each liveCache patch listed in the above notes has its own SAP note containing the most important information about that patch level as well as instructions about how to download the patch. Please also read the relevant note for the liveCache patch being installed.

Installing a SAP liveCache Patch

Use SDBUPD tool to install SAP liveCache patch as described in the SAP note 1529690 (for liveCache 7.9) or 998966 (for liveCache 7.7).

Microsoft Cluster Services

 SAP MaxDB Database Studio

The SAP MaxDB Database Studio is a database tool with which you can manage SAP liveCache databases of version 7.7 and higher. You can use Database Studio on all operating systems supported by the database system. It is a component of the SAP liveCache software.

Database Studio runs on the Eclipse platform. For more information about this tool please read the following SAP notes:
