Transportation Unit (TU):
In SAP EWM, a Transportation Unit represents a vehicle or container used to transport goods between locations. It is crucial for planning, tracking, and managing the physical movement of products, from loading to delivery.

 

TU Activation:

Transportation Unit (TU) activation in SAP EWM initiates the process of tracking and managing the TU within the warehouse. Activation enables monitoring of loading, unloading, and transit activities, linking the TU to specific goods and handling tasks. This step is essential for real-time visibility and control over transportation logistics.

 

Steps to Create and Activate a Transportation Unit:

Step1: Access Transaction Code:

Use /N/SCWM/TU to navigate to the Transportation Unit screen.

Step2: Create a Transportation Unit:

From the menu, select Transportation Unit > Create.

Step3: Enter TU Details:
In the “Process TU” dialog, provide details for:

  • Means of Transport
  • Packing Material
  • S&R Activity Direction

Save the details to create the TU.

 

Step4: Assign Deliveries:

Assign the relevant deliveries to the TU and execute the assignment.

Activate the Transportation Unit and save the entry.
