What is JIT – Just In Time?
The space is always limited on a production line or near production lines. Therefore, manufacturers do not want to stock products close to lines but rather prefer to order and schedule the delivery when products are needed to complete production, several times during a day.
Types of Just in Time:
Next-Generation JIT: Just-In-Time and Just-In-Sequence in SAP S/4HANA
SAP Release: The integration between JIT and EWM solution is available as of release S/4HANA 2020 FPS1 Deployment option: EWM embedded in S4 HANA
Processes Covered:
1.JIT Supply to Production
Covers the complete process from the release to the supplier, warehouse or external service agent up to the receipt of components and assemblies at the production line.
2.JIT Supply to Customer
Covers the end-to-end process from receiving the JIT or JIS calls, up to delivering and billing the components or modules to the respective customer.
In today’s blog, I will cover the JIT Supply to Production from the EWM managed warehouse
The diagram below shows the integration between S4 REP and EWM, process flow with data points:

7. From here onwards, we can create and assign the JIT warehouse request to a wave (optional), release wave (optional), create warehouse task and warehosue order then continue picking and staging as we do normally.
Thanks for reading my first blog. Stay tuned for more!!!
