Handling Unit (HU):
A Handling Unit in SAP EWM combines packaging and products into a single entity, allowing for easier tracking and management throughout the warehouse. It facilitates streamlined movement and storage of goods.

Putaway:
Putaway is the process of moving received goods from the inbound area to their designated storage locations within the warehouse, ensuring efficient space utilization and inventory accuracy.

Inbound Delivery:
An Inbound Delivery represents the receipt of goods into the warehouse, detailing item quantities and storage needs, and it supports efficient management of the inbound logistics process.

RFUI (Radio Frequency User Interface):
RFUI enables real-time, mobile interaction with SAP EWM, allowing warehouse operators to perform tasks like picking, packing, and inventory checks directly from handheld devices.

Warehouse Order:
A Warehouse Order is a task list created in SAP EWM that groups related activities, such as picking or putaway, to optimize worker efficiency and streamline warehouse operations.

 

Steps to perform Inbound Processes -> Putaway by Handling Unit

Step1: Create Inbound delivery using the Transaction code VL31N with reference to Purchase Order.

The delivery is distributed to EWM

Step2: Navigate to the Transaction code /N/SCWM/PRDI and provide the Delivery number and execute.

Now perform Packing by navigating to the menu option Inbound Delivery  -> Follow-on-Functions -> Pack

Provide the Pack Material “PALLET” in the create HU section on the right side of the screen and execute to create the Handling Unit.

Handling Unit is created.

Now drag and drop the product into the Handling Unit and then save

Goods Receipt is completed.

Step3: Navigate to the menu option “Inbound delivery” and select the option to create the warehouse task.

The warehouse order is created.

Step4: Go to RFUI screen using the transaction code /N/SCWM/RFUI

Select the option “04 Inbound Processes”

 Then click on the option “03 Putaway”

It will navigate to the next screen displaying four options:

“01 Putaway by HU”

“02 Putaway by HU (Clustered)”

“03 Putaway by WO

“04 Confirmation Correct”

Select the First Option.

In the next screen provide the Handling Unit number and click on enter.

In the next screen, Confirm the below details and then click on the enter key.

a)       Product

b)      Source quantity

c)       Batch

d)      Destination Bin

The warehouse order is confirmed.

Step5: Navigate to the /N/SCWM/PRDI transaction to validate if the warehouse order is confirmed.

The Putaway status is displayed as “Completed “in the Inbound delivery.
