Ewm Storage Bin Capacity Control with Multi Depth

Purpose

In this blog post I'll try to explain how you can easily manage capacity control with different HU types.

Scenario;

In this scenario I try to explain how you can manage storage bin capacity control with multidepth. Not just one hu type but different Hu types in one storage bin.With defining max depth for different hu types, system won't allow you to make putaway if there isn't enough capacity.

Note: Warehouse Tasks must be HU WT , otherwise they will not work.

Configuration;

• Storage Bin Types; We must enable the depth setting in the storage type for which we want to perform capacity control.

• Define Storage Bin Types; We have to set Maximum depth in bin type 

• Define Required Bin Depth for Handling Unit Types ; We must to define depth in HU types and this step determines how much depth hu types will cover

• Assign storage bin Type to storage bin ; We define the storage bin type to the storage bin for capacity control in the warehouse address we created.

Test

First Storage Bin Empty

one E1 hu is transferred

another E1 hu is transferred

Now When I want to transfer an E2 HU type, the system wont allow it.

One E1 HU hu type is picked at the storage bin

Now I can transferred one E2 HU type

To summarize, if your scenario does not require complex capacity control, we can easily control the capacity of different HU types with depth adjustment.
