Welcome to the 2505 release of SAP Asset Performance Management (APM). There are lots of new ways to make working with industrial systems smoother and smarter. We’ve got three new public APIs to help you fully manage system data, a handy app for creating and reusing industrial system templates, better ways to view your asset hierarchies, and new status controls for assessments and recommendations. Add to that some cool updates for IoT-connected devices, visual inspections, and admin tools - here’s what’s new, organized by business capability.
Three new APIs are now available on the SAP Business Acceleration Hub:
These APIs enable full CRUD operations for key industrial system components, allowing customers to customize configurations, add new fields, and automate workflows. This boosts flexibility, speeds up system management, and supports seamless integration—delivering greater efficiency and control.

You can now create industrial systems from existing templates, streamlining setup and configuration. The new Manage Industrial System Templates app makes it easy to organize and reuse templates.
Industrial systems can now be viewed in both graph and table formats, giving you more flexibility in how you visualize and manage your asset hierarchies.

Only users with the appropriate “Publish” roles can now release RCM, FMEA, and Strategy Assessments, ensuring better control and governance. For more information, see 3567652 - SAP Asset Performance Management: Manage Strategy Assessment for Classes Authorization wit...
APM now supports device management, available through the SAP Early Adopter Care (EAC) Program. This enables seamless integration and monitoring of IoT-connected assets. The EAC phase starts with a basic version that will gradually be enhanced. To obtain access to this feature, see Getting Early Adopter Access to New Features and Functions.
For more information, see this blog SAP Asset Performance Management Embedded IoT: Device Management is available via EAC.
Alerts generated by rules now display detailed descriptions in the Long Text field, providing clearer context for both alerts and notifications.
View images in full screen with linked measurements and easy navigation. Confirm or reject AI-generated indicators individually or in bulk for streamlined workflows.
Create aggregation rules to consolidate data from child technical objects into their parent objects. This helps summarize key indicators across assets, enabling quicker insights, easier monitoring, and better decision-making throughout your asset hierarchy.
The Integration Monitor app now includes a left-side menu with a Data Synchronization tab, offering a clearer and more organized view of synchronization status and data metrics reports. This update lays the groundwork for a more structured interface, with plans for additional tabs and features in upcoming releases. For more information, see Data Synchronization.
As part of our effort to standardize the technology stack for SAP Asset Performance Management, we are currently in the process of transitioning our existing applications to the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model in a phased approach with different timelines per application.
This transition includes the migration of the database from using GUIDs (32 characters) to UUIDs (36 characters). You can find more details in the SAP Note 3603407.
The Select Technical Objects popup now automatically excludes inactive, deleted, or marked-for-deletion objects, ensuring you work only with relevant, active assets.
