We are continuously enhancing EWM for SAP S/4HANA with a clear focus on the following main themes:
With Extended Warehouse Management as an integral component of SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud and onPremise we are shipping a major release in a two-year cycle (since SAP S/4HANA 2023). Additionally, we release in-between major releases, three feature packs with more innovations and features along our strategic north-star.

What release milestones are relevant for planning the transformation of SAP EWM?
As a predecessor to EWM for SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM 9.5, 9.4 and earlier releases, are highly productive at many of our customers. We recommend to check the specific maintenance plan for SAP EWM releases via the SAP Product Availability Matrix to understand, the important timelines of end of mainstream maintenance and to understand if there is extended maintenance available.
It is important to note that not all product versions have an availability of extended maintenance and have planned end of mainstream maintenance in 2025 (e.g. SAP EWM 9.4). What is the difference between LE-WM and Stock Room Management?
For our customers who are currently operating their warehouses with LE-WM, the following aspects are important to consider as transformation strategy boundary conditions:
Stock Room Management is offering a subset of LE-WM functionalities. The offering is intended to enable our installed base customers to continue running their legacy Warehouse Management installations in SAP S/4HANA beyond the timelines of the compatibility scope.
