In this blog, I will show you what 'Quantity Validation' flag in Manage Routings/Recipes app can be used for, in the context of Order POD execution. 

'Quantity Validation' flag can be defined in Manage Routings/Recipes app under 'Routing/Recipe Details' as follows:

Where

Yes: Allows you to perform activities such as reporting, starting a phase or operation, posting consumption and so on in a sequence.

ManoelCosta_3-1746644903348.pngYou must post some Yield/Scrap Quantity Confirmation before you can start the 2nd phase onwards.

No: Allows you to start and complete an Charge or SFC at any phase or operation without reporting any quantity on the previous steps.

ManoelCosta_1-1746644876955.pngFor example, in Order POD, you would be able to start Phase 0012 without posting any Yield/Scrap for Phase 0011.

Keep in mind that this flag must be set for the order-specific routing/recipe before the order release, in order to work as explained above in Order POD.

For Work Center / Operation Activity PODs context, 'Quantity Validation' flag as "YES" is mandatory. See Relaxed Flow Routings within SAP Digital Manufacturing, which can provide some flexibility for routing execution in parallel operations.
