In this blog, I will show you what 'Quantity Validation' flag in Manage Routings/Recipes app can be used for, in the context of Order POD execution.
'Quantity Validation' flag can be defined in Manage Routings/Recipes app under 'Routing/Recipe Details' as follows:
Where
Yes: Allows you to perform activities such as reporting, starting a phase or operation, posting consumption and so on in a sequence.
You must post some Yield/Scrap Quantity Confirmation before you can start the 2nd phase onwards.
No: Allows you to start and complete an Charge or SFC at any phase or operation without reporting any quantity on the previous steps.
For example, in Order POD, you would be able to start Phase 0012 without posting any Yield/Scrap for Phase 0011.
Keep in mind that this flag must be set for the order-specific routing/recipe before the order release, in order to work as explained above in Order POD.
For Work Center / Operation Activity PODs context, 'Quantity Validation' flag as "YES" is mandatory. See Relaxed Flow Routings within SAP Digital Manufacturing, which can provide some flexibility for routing execution in parallel operations.
'Quantity Validation' flag can also be set via XSLT, see:
