Take the First Step with the SAP Preferred Success Business AI Accelerator for SAP Extended Warehouse Management Private Cloud Edition

Picture this: it’s the start of your peak season. Your warehouse is buzzing – orders are coming in fast, trucks are lining up, and shift managers are doing their best to keep things under control.

But the volume is unpredictable. Labor planning turns into guesswork. You’re constantly adjusting on the fly, chasing efficiency instead of leading with it.

Now imagine a different scenario – one where AI predicts workload based on historical trends and helps you align resources before the pressure hits.

This isn’t a futuristic vision. It's happening now. And it’s just one example of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping warehouse operations.

Companies that have embraced AI in their supply chains are seeing real results:

📉 15% lower logistics costs
📦 35% reduction in inventory levels
📈 Up to 65% improvement in service levels

But let’s be honest – AI can sound big. Complex. Even overwhelming.

Where do you start? What’s realistic? And how do you ensure it's aligned with your actual business goals?

Introducing the Business AI Accelerator for SAP EWM

With the SAP Preferred Success 2502 release, we’re pleased to introduce the Business AI Accelerator Service for SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Private Cloud Edition.

Designed specifically for SAP Preferred Success Customers, this offering provides structured guidance to help organizations begin their AI journey in the warehouse - strategically and confidently.

What to Expect from the Workshop

Offering a flexible format that can range from a 1–2-hour session to a 1–2-day engagement, the Business AI Accelerator is tailored to be both strategic and practical.

The session begins by introducing key AI concepts in a business context. Participants explore SAP’s AI strategy and learn how AI capabilities are currently embedded – and continuing to evolve – within the SAP EWM solution. This helps establish a shared understanding of the possibilities and relevance of AI within the warehouse setting.

Next, the focus shifts to your organization’s system landscape, where we look at current SAP system and infrastructure to identify preliminary steps for AI integration.

The discussion also includes critical foundations such as data governance, compliance, and ethical AI. Organizational readiness is another theme. The workshop covers change management considerations and skills enablement to support a smooth AI adoption.

A key outcome of the workshop is the identification and prioritization of AI use cases tailored to your business goals. In a collaborative working session, we help your team explore opportunities that are both achievable and impactful. You’ll leave with a clear action plan for continued planning and execution, supported by a resource toolkit and optional follow-up support via SAP consulting or your SI for non-standard use cases.

An Example in Practice: SAP EWM Predictive Labor Demand Planning

Among the AI capabilities already available in SAP EWM is Machine Learning based Predictive Labor Demand Planning, that can be used to predict planned workload data based on the picking and packing outbound processes. This enables warehouse shift managers and supervisors to plan resources and workloads more efficiently. This functionality uses historical workload records to calculate a planned duration for warehouse workload records, and then use those records to plan outbound delivery orders.
