In this blog, I will show you in detail how 'Relaxed Flow' flag in Manage Recipes/Routings app affects Order Release process and the released SFCs quantities.
When producing materials with 'Lot Size' > 1:
Upon Order Release, 'X' Shop Floor Controls (SFCs) are created, where 'X' is calculated as the 'Quantity to Release' divided by the order header Material 'Lot Size'.
Once created, each SFC is assigned a quantity equivalent to the respective material Lot Size. In the example above, for a Lot Size of 20, when releasing 100 as 'Quantity to Release', 5 SFCs of 20 quantity each are generated.
Partial order releases and releasing quantities smaller than the Material Lot Size are also supported.
The release behavior and final SFC quantities released are highly dependent on the 'Relaxed Flow' flag set in the routing within the Manage Routings/Recipes app:
In the example above, with a Lot Size of 20, if you perform three individual/partial releases with the following quantities: 15, 15, and 40, the result would be as follows:
- If 'Relaxed Flow' is NO: A brand-new SFC is released every time, quantity is not accumulated from one release to another, from one SFC to the next one.
Where:
- If 'Relaxed Flow' is YES: Quantity is accumulated from one release to another, from one SFC to the next one until it reaches the lot size.
