An industrial system represents the structure of assets, functions, and relationships that mirror how equipment is organized and managed in real operations. It’s the digital skeleton of your plant or factory, and with 2505, building that skeleton just got smarter.
Let’s look at the enhancements shaping how we build, manage, and reuse these systems.
The new Manage Industrial System Templates app lets you define reusable blueprints of a complete system, including:
For the reliability engineer, this means no more reinventing the wheel. Instead of re-building similar structures from scratch, teams can start from a consistent, approved model—ensuring alignment and reducing setup time.

Once a template is finalized, it becomes a launchpad. The ability to create new industrial systems from templates streamlines the process, reducing complexity and human error—especially across multiple plants or projects.
Our engineer can now focus on what matters—validating data, not building models.

Large systems often mean getting lost in the details. The new tabular hierarchy view complements the graphical model, giving teams a more structured overview. Each system component is visible at a glance in a clear table format, helping with reviews, audits, and collaboration.
A new Aspect Type filter also allows users to narrow down the view—focusing only on relevant components for a given task or analysis.

Together, the 2505 enhancements simplify system design, save time, drive consistent modeling through reusable templates, and improve system navigation. There are many exciting developments coming in the area of industrial systems—including the ability to create standalone recommendations on industrial systems, helping teams respond quickly to failures in functional structures. A dedicated Meet the Expert webcast on industrial system and recommendation integration is also planned for late summer.
