I want to go over the operation of SAP Yard Logistics and Dock Appointment Scheduling in this blog post. To ensure that the warehouse runs efficiently and that the workload is distributed throughout the working day, it is crucial to schedule vehicle arrivals as well as the loading and unloading of the trucks. The carriers can enrol their transportation units for the yard and schedule time slots for un- and uploading with SAP Dock Appointment Scheduling, which is used to efficiently plan vehicle arrival in your warehouses. The planning document, or yard request (YR), is where the Yard Logistics process begins. I have manually prepared a yard request that is pertinent to the dock appointment here.
Generating the time slot and establishing the warehouse door capacity at a given moment is the most crucial step.
When selecting a docking site, make sure to complete this setup; otherwise, you won't receive the appointment. Scroll down and select "Create Timeslots" in the same app.
The system will launch a new popup window where you'll need to specify when actual loading will take place in the warehouse, which is the warehouse that occasionally operates at capacity (the number of doors in your warehouse).
The break timing can be set to 0, which means that no slots will be available at that time.
You need to assign the Docking Location to Loading Point, I have not integrated with EWM, that is the reason I have maintained :SAP EWM Integration- No Integration" I will cover in my next blog how to integrated YL EWM TM.
Create Yard Request-
You can see in the below screenshot, upon creation of Yard request System triggered the DAS Appointment.
Now Go to Dock Appointment Scheduling Tab, and you can see your DAS appointment no, click on Go to Appointment Button, system will popup new window.
Here you can see your Appointment capacity, available timings.
Select any time.
Save, and Go to Yard Request, DAS Tab, your appointment is updated there.
As we have configured the system to generate an automated yard order, it will do so upon creation of YR.
Your Yard Order will be in Planned Status and Consistent.
System will create Yard Task Automatically based on your config.
And Same DAS Appointment will flow to your YO.
Thanks & Regards,
Muhammad Ashraf
