Overview:
On this blog will show you how we can use Process oriented storage control for doing quality inspection in EWM for an normal Purchase order. Here the idea is we will receive the material in Door then move it to staging area, then to Inspection workcenter in Warehouse and then to the bins in Rack of warehouse.
DR01-01 (Door) ----> GR01-01 (Staging area)-------> QINS-01 (Inspection)----------> RA01-01 (High Rack Warehouse)
Main part:
Configuration:
Define the UD code for EWM Inspection types at plant level. This is similar to QM ERP settings.
SIMG - Quality Management - Basic Settings - Maintain Settings at Plant LevelNote: Maintain PL selected set. Other wise UD code will not be shown in EWM inspection.

Generate EWM relevant QM inspection Types
SIMG - SCM EWM - EWM - Cross Process Settings - Quality Management - Basics and Integration - Generate Inspection Object Type Versions. Click generate new version to create IOT. Then this willa appear in next config.
Activate the IOT
Here for EWM we can activate the inspection types related to EWM.

Define & Activate warehouse dependent IOT
Here we can define how the inspection setup orgin to be decided. Either by rule or others.

Also We can decide which external step from POSC to be used here.
Maintain Follow Up action for EWM
Here we can define which followup action to be performed after doing UD. Followup action will trigger warehouse task and stock movement.

Define storage types:
We need to define storage types for Quality area to differentiate it from the other storage types.

Create one Bin for QINS storage type in /n/scwm/ls01
Specify workcenter layout
This will decide which and all fields to be displaced in /n/scwm/tworkst tcode.

Define Process Oriented Storage Control:
Here we can define the gates & process through which the material will go through from receiving till keeping it in Warehouse rack.

Define Quality Work center in EWM
This is a place in warehouse where quality team will keep and inspect materials.

We need to assign a Bin to the Quality workcenter
Define the Warehouse Process type for starting inspection with POSC

Assign Default work ceter for warehouse Inspection

Master data with EWM inspection type
Create material master in MM01 with QM inspection type 1701Define the Inspection rule for document types - /n/scwm/qrsetup
Define the putaway strategy using the below path

Assign Storage Types to Storage Type Search Sequence, Define Putaway Control Indicator, Specify Storage Type Search Sequence for Putaway, Optimize Access Strategy for Storage Type Search: Putaway
Define the Stock Removal strategy using the below path
SIMG - SCM EWM - EWM - Goods Issue Process - Strategies - Specify Stock Removal Rules. And in same menu do the below.
Specify Storage Type Search Sequence, Define Stock Removal Control Indicator, Determine Storage Type Search Sequence for Stock Removal, Optimize Access Strategies for Stor. Type Determination in Stock Removal
Check the WOCR has been create or not in
SIMG - SCM EWM - EWM - Cross Process Settings - Warehouse Order - Define Creation Rules for Warehouse Orders
Create one Purchase order in ME31N with confirmation. If confirmation is not there VL31N cannot be created.Create inbound delivery in VL31N.
Pack the Material in HU or else POSC will not be copied to EWM.Do Goods receipt in EWM via /n/scwm/mon.
Before GR the stock type will be F1 and after GR the stock type will be changed to Q3.
Later create warehouse task using the followup on top if its not creating in background.
In Next screen click create and save
Then go back to /n/scwm/mon and select the Warehouse request and click warehouse task to get the task created as per POSC and confirm it.
On Conforming it a new task will be create and the stock will be moved from GR01-01 to QINS-01
Later go to QA32 and do UD
Later in UD screen click EWM inspection
Later click continue instead of closing the screen. Then give the UD and save it.
In EWM an another warehouse task will be created. At last you can confirm this to move the stock from QINS-01 -----> RA01-01
Conclusion:
