Workaround - How to link PR to GSP via API?

Linking a Purchase Requisition to a Guided Sourcing Project is possible via the standard UI manually, however it's not possible to do via API.

I'm trying to figure out what would be the next best thing (i.e. use another field to somehow reference the PR within the GSP or the other way around).

Any non-standard way of linking the two that's available via API would work fo rme.
