Dear Expert,

Why to use SAP PI for integration between SAP SRM 7.02 and SAP ERP 6.0?

In my previous experience, I used a middlweare for transfer Central Contract between SAP SRM and SAP ERP. My question is: Is mandatory to use SAP PI for this integration?

I'm awaiting your response and possible documentation.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As Sushil mentioned, it is not mandatory to use PI for a Central Contracts. You can use the concept of WSRM which does what PI does( transfer of data) . There a couple of switches needs to be activated. It is clearly mentioned in the blog along with the rest of the steps.

In case you want to create Contracts in ECC it goes via web services, but if you want to create SA in ECC then it is done via IDOCS ( Unless SAP modified their code and accommodated SA via Web services).

Hope the blog is helpful 😉

PI is not mandatory for Central Contract replication to ERP. You can still use Idocs (BLAORD & BLAREL) for integration.

If you plan to use webservices for new features like service hierarchies etc. please refer
