Which Ariba CIG Add-on to download and what is the difference between ARBCI1 100 vs ARBCI2 100?

We are implementing Ariba integration from ECC using the Cloud Integration Gateway approach. In terms of installing the CIG add-on for ECC, we are not sure which one to use:

1. Choose A and do one of the following for using SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway 1.0, add-on for SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA:
* If you use SAP ERP, click ARIBA CLOUD INT SAP ERP 1.0 and then download one of the following:
* SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway 1.0, add-on for SAP (ARBCI1 100) - Use for EHP0 to EHP8
* Ariba Cloud Integration for SAP ERP EHP4 to EHP8. V.1 (ARBCI2 100) - Use for EHP 4 to EHP8

The difference is not clear - and it appears both ARBCI1 100 vs ARBCI2 100 work as the CIG add-on. However, we want to integrate with Ariba purchasing, sourcing and contracts - so it looks like we may need to use ARBCI2 100 as per the note above. Can anyone let us know the difference? We have SAP ERP ECC 6 EHP7.

Thanks,

Jay

Hello,

ARBCI1 100 - is the base component for integrating SAP ECC with Ariba cloud and dependent component for ARBCI2.

As of initial shipment, it comprises of Contract integration between Ariba sourcing and SAP ERP.

Thanks,

Hello Jay,

Sorry for the delayed response

SAP 6.0 is the base SAP version with Enhancement pack all the way from EHP0 (No enhancement package) and EHP 8 which is the top end before you move to S/4HANA which is the latest version of SAP. As you are on more recent enhancement packs, there are more feature added on to SAP. E.g EHP4 has functions Not available in EHP0.

Depending on the version of ECC you have to choose between the 2

  • SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway 1.0, add-on for SAP (ARBCI1 100) - Use for EHP0 to EHP8
  • Ariba Cloud Integration for SAP ERP EHP4 to EHP8. V.1 (ARBCI2 100) - Use for EHP 4 to EHP8

The same implies to S/4HANA,

if you are retail customer (IS-Retail is active) , then you need to use

  • Ariba Cloud Integration for RETAIL. Version 1.0 (ARBCIGR 100) - Use for EHP 0 to EHP8

Good Luck

For our scenarios that include the Ariba Buyer, Sourcing, and Contracts - we need both. The ARBCI2 has a smaller set of functionality (and one tenth of the objects) that is sourcing and contracts focused. For Procure to Pay, we need ARBCI1.

Thanks,

Jay

Hi jay.malla3 - your comment that 'ARBCI1 and C12 are needed where procure to pay, contracts and sourcing are involved' make sense to me. Was this also validated with SAP?

Hi onelalith - I installed these on my system and looked into the list of classes and proxies. Most of the funtionality for procure to pay process is in ARBCI1 - there are almost 5000+ objects in the transport. The ARBC12 has about 600 objects in the transport. So the first one has a lot more code and configuration. They can both co-exist.

Jay

Hi mw_overlack and vijay.vital - do you know the difference between these two add-ons? It's not clear which one specifically we need for Ariba CIG integration. We do want to integrate with Ariba Procurement, Sourcing and Contracts.

I think we would be able to install both -

ARBCI1100ARBCI1 100: Add-On SAPK-100AGINARBCI1

ARBCI2100ARBCI2 100: Add-On SAPK-100AGINARBCI2

Thanks,

Jay
