using base unit of measure in SRM shopping cart vs order unit

Hello experts,

Is it possible to use alternative unit of measure (or even the base UOM) for the material in shopping cart that is different from the material master's order unit?

We are trying to do it via catalog, where we maintained EA for the item, and seems like standard always replaces the UNIT item field to that of order unit (BX).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, we were able to order using the alternative UOM of the product if data is from catalog.
Only when the unit in catalog is invalid (not part of material master) that standard replaces it with the order unit defined in material master.
