SSL Certificate error during Ariba SIPM Integration

Hi,

We are trying to integrate Supplier master data from Ariba SIPM to ECC EHP 7 via PI 7.3 (Dual Stack).

We have set up the interface as per Ariba CI-9 documentation using the shared-secret authentication method. We did not download the Ariba certificate.

However, while doing a test message from PI to Ariba, we get the error

Error While Sending Message: Additional error text from response: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: iaik.security.ssl.SSLCertificateException: Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier

"

I am not sure which certificate the error refers to as we are not using the certificate authentication method.

Has anyone seen this issue before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
