SRM new ui, disable the mark it as the assigned supplier button

Hi

We are using SRM 70 in classic mode.  For text item (non catalog) we do not want the requester to mark a sc item with mark it as the assigned supplier. Once its assigned the a po is generated once approved. So we would like to desable this button. We would preffer that the buyer does the sourcing accordingly. Is there security or field edit that can achieve this for us?

I am unable to relate to the screenshot . You should be able to make the field invisible in either of the 2 ways :

1. Webdynpro component level

2. By Meta data concept .

Also do you not use the sourcing cockpit functionality wherein the PO after getting approved would move to the sourcing cockpit where in you can create a PO .

Please also send a detailed screenshot which Tab of SC screen do you see the button ?

Yes we use the sourcing cockpit.  We found out that if the requester adds to the cart item a supplier it gets converted to a PO once approved we would like to prevent that so that the buyers would source it appropriatly.

From the SRM new ui, cart detail, under source of supply...

Any detailed information your options.  How to disable and change a field to be mandatory?
