SRM MDM Catalogue - User

Hi,

we are currently using an internal SAP MDM catalogue. This one connects to OCI with User1.

Now we would like to connect some external catalogues which use a bit different OCI setups. So, form the Portal, we go to the external shop, fill dthe Shopping basket, Transfer the Shopping basket to SRM and place the order out of SRM. How can we make use of the OCI setup for User2 for the first external catalogue and User3 for the second external catalogue?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

do not understand your problem.

Catalog provider (for Punch-Out catalog) has to document the names and valid values required for catalog call-up.

In case of MDM, ones of those parameters are 'username' and 'password' to get authorization to connect to the MDM repository.

For your Punch-Out catalogs, those two parameters (their name and value) have to be provided by each Catalog owner in order to be populated into the corresponding catalog call structure (Web Service).

Regards.

Laurent.

Hi Thomas,

Maybe I still not get it, but SRM users and catalog users are independent, they are not directly linked to eachother. The catalog user is only maintained in the webservice definition of the catalog. One SRM user can use different shops (catalogs) and several SRM users can use the same catalog, up to the company's decision. This decision can be made by

  1. creating different webservices for each catalog-catalog user combination (if the catalog provider provides several catalog users with different authorization, you can create several webservices in SRM to access the same catalog)
  2. adding only the webservices to the SRM user in PPOMA_BBP, to which the user should have access

In this way, you have the possibility to say: User2 can only access shop1 and User3 can only access shop2.

Best regards,

Timea

Hi Timea,

thanks for your reply, but unfortunately it does not solve my problem.

I know that each web shop / catalogue has a different user. For our own SRM MDM catalogue we use User1. But for the external catalogues we have to use a user provided by the shop owner.

The problem is, that we are filling the shopping cart in the external shop, transfer the cart to our SRM and then place the order from our SRM system to the external shop.

I think, placing the order is done via the OCI Interface which each external shop can design individually, to a certain degree at least.

So the question is, when placing the order from the SRM how can we say right here to user User2 from the OCI for external shop 1 and User3 for external shop 2? User1 is reserved for our internal shop.

Best Regards,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I'm not sure, if you mean SRM users or catalog users.

You have to create a call structure (webservice customizing) for each catalog in the SRM system. In the catalog call structure you have to maintain the catalog user with the logon data and other information that should be sent to the catalog. These logon data can be / are usually different for the different catalogs.

You can define, which catalog is available for each SRM user in the organisation structure PPOMA_BBP. You can assign one or more catalogs to one SRM user. For details you can check following KBA: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2479513

I hope I could answer your question.
