SRM 7.0 & SUS

Hi,

Could someone please point out what are the advantages of using SRM 7.0 in combination with a Portal and SUS. Is there a need to upgrade SRM 5.0 to 7.0 in order to be able to use SRM in combination with SUS?

Hi,

The advantage of using SRM 7.0 with Portal and SUS is that the supplier can participate in Order Collaboration (SUS) as well as bidding (SRM functionality) from a single login in the portal.

You dont need to upgrade from SRM 5 to SRM 7 to be able to use SUS.

Thajnks for the quiick reply. So you say that technically an upgrade from 5 to 7 isnt necessary. Since version 7.0is quite different from version 5.0, woulld it make sense to do the upgrade in one go with the SUS/portal implementation?

Hi Joris,

It makes sense for you to go for upgradation of SRM 7 from your existing SRM 5 to avail new functionality released for SRM 7.

You can opt for latest release of SRM7 with enhyancement pack 1.

Please, also note that to avail the maximum benefit of SRM7, you need to have backend system on ECC 6.0 enhancement pk 4 or more.

Hi,

As Ranjan mentioned, upgrading from 5 to 7 will enable you to leverage new features like Service Procurement, Central Contracts, ESOA architecture etc.

But just to use SUS you need not upgrade to 7. SUS will work in SRM 5.0 too.
