Hello,

By Services Procurement, there are 3 possible variants:

1. Service Request & Service Order with integrated Skills profile- This is a old feature supported from earlier versions of SRM. This works in Classic and Extended. This is supported in SC, PO and RFX (SRM) and ECC (Item type D)

2. Services procurement basically Item Hierarchies can be enabled if you activate the PPS Business functions & switches by using Complex Item hierarchies (activated via Assignment of hierarchy template to transaction types).

This is supported in Extended classic scenario in business objects SC, PO, Contracts, RFX, Quote.

This was available from PPS2.0 I guess or probably earlier. It was also developed for ITS UI( SRM 50) for some customers.

You can create any level of complex item hierarchy with custom Item Process types with PPS hierarchies.

3. Now the latest is the support for External Services procurement of ECC Material Management (Item Type D) in SRM. In SRM 7.0, transfer for PR with Items of type D was supported and you could run through the Bidding scenario in SRM (RFX, Quote) and end up with classic PO in ECC.

SC in SRM supported display of Service heirarchies and you cannot start procurement of external services from SRM SC.

In SRM 7.0 you could not create an RFX from scratch having Service hierarchies.

With EHP1 of SRM 7.0, following enhancements are available:

1. Central Contracts supports service hierarchies

          - You can do initial upload of ECC Service contracts into SRM

          - You can distribute your central contract for services to SRM-MDM catalog

          - Central contracts are available for Sourcing of Service PRs in Sourcing cockpit (classic                scenario)

          - Generate Service RFXs from Service Central contracts

2. Creation of RFX for external service in SRM directly with out a preceding PR of Services hierarchies

3. Support for Info lines and other service line types (restricted)

4. creation of ECC/SRM contract from a RFX with service hierarchies

5. Creation of backend PO for RFX with services

6. Sourcing Cockpit support for sourcing of backend PRs with Central contracts

If you generate a SRM local PO from RFX with services, then you will lose the service hierarchy (all outlines and suboutlines are lost) and only the actual service lines are transferred.

Sushil.

Hi,

Yes. Service Procurement is possible in ECS.

P.S. Service Hierarchies are available in Central Contracts only.

You will get related documents & release notes on service market place.

Hi,

Service procurement is supported with Extended classic scenario also.

Service procurement is there with or without service hierarchy.

You can get the config guide for service procurement in sap service market place under release and upgrade info - Release notes for different SRM versions.
