Hi all,
We are on SRM 5.0 SP13,Extended Classic.
If we plan to upgrade to SRM 7.0 what is the min timeline required for technical /functional /both upgrades?
Also what is the latest Support pack available for SRM 7.0?
Also this is for a public sector client ...so do we need to upgrade to SRM 7.0 PPS ???
Can anyone tell me more abt SAP SRM 7.0 PPS ...What it has to offer different then SRM 5.0??Advantages/disadvantages?
Thanks.

Hi,
check for the business process with the Client clearly.
If the business has more of Zee Process . It will take roughly 6 to 10 months minimum of Standalone SRM only.
If the application are more ECC 6.0 ,SAP BI, SAP MDM then it is complex one.
SRM 7.0 works with SAP MDM only .. you cannot use CCM...
User Interface is 100% changed from ITS to SRM ABAP Webdynpro . So all the Zee process development should be in
SRM ABAP webdynpro which takes lot of time.
Since It is a public sector --for PPS implementation alone it will take 6 months combined with other business scenario also takes
more time.
Nowadays getting SRM ABAP webdynpro resources is very difficult . Minimum of 3 resources is reqd.

It depends on the size of project and what functionality of SRM70 you arelooking for. Generally if you are looking for all new functionality of SRN70 like Central contract, Plan driven procurement, CPPR, Bidding, Internal catalog (MDM) and BRF workflow (Process level workflow) then it takes 9-12months. It involves lot of technical upgrades and also Enterprise portal is required for SRM70.
At present latest version of SRM70 is SP09. SP10 is due this month.PPS is just an additional component within SRM70, for this you just have to down load the business packages for PPS along with other standard components.Yes you need togo for PPS for public sector as it got lot of public sector scenarios.
