Service Timesheet - SRM 7.0 ECS

Hi all,

We're on SRM 7.0 Extended Classic. We have fulfilled the pre-requisites for service time entry via a timesheet form:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/18/5eee9c186c4e27915646e719042d3e/frameset.htm

However, the Service Timesheet function is not available/visible in Confirmation screen. Is time entry supported for services in 7.0 Extended Classic? Or is this functionality still limited to the Standalone scenario as in previous versions?

Cheers,

Serguei

Sergui,

I guess you are looking for time sheet entry icon in the confirmation screen. This will be available only for servies with standalone scenarion with local SRM service master and there is no change in this functionality with SRM70. For this the services need to be local and not to be replicated from backend system.

SRM70 only supports service masters with hierachy services which have individual times maintained in the sub service items eg. Hours. That means this will work same as normal services where you see sub items when you click main service item and you can enter the quantity only against the sub service. This is same as in SRM50 and not changed anything in SRM70. In SRM70 only change is transferring service masters from ECC to SRM using eSOA.

Please cross check with SAP and lets see if they say anything different.

Thanks,

Hi Jagdish,

Yes, I am looking for the Generate Timesheet function that SAP Help article mentions (linked in my first message).

Thank you for your detailed response. I will try contacting OSS for confirmation, but they're not always willing to answer functional questions...

Cheers.

FYI, SAP has confirmed that this functionality is still limited to Standalone in 7.0. Here's their reply to my OSS message:

Dear Serguei,

as you are running the extended classic scenario, please note that the

time entry icon will only be available in local scenario/for local POs.

Even though in ECS local SRM POs are created, all the relevant data is

read from the backend PO copy, and therefore the POs are designated as

backend POs regarding their entry in the object_type field.

The decision whether the time entry icon is active or not, is done in

function module BBP_PDH_SEARCH_PO_FOR_CONF_INV:

IF lt_po_list-object_type EQ c_b_po.

lt_po_list_search-time_create = gc_no.

ELSE.

lt_po_list_search-time_create = gc_yes.

ENDIF.

I hope I could clarify the issue and provide the necessary information

to you.

Kind Regards

Hi Serguei

the below notes says classic as well as standalone time sheet entry is possible from SRM 700

Note 1308532 - Unable to confirm shopping carts with multiple service items

1329865 Dump in Service Confirmation with timesheet entry

Note 1171505 - Error during time recording for service items

but no symptoms of ECS , I will check some thing from my side and let you know shortly. SAP might have addressed.

i wantes some proof for you but no luck..

Question: Is there a major differences between SRM 5.0 vs 7.0 when it comes to Service procurement

Yes. We targeted complex service procurement in SRM 7.0. Complex service scenarios use a service specification, or service hierarchy, to define the service. These service hierarchies can be passed to SRM for Sourcing. In SRM, users can modify the service hierarchy. In turn, bidders can bid at the detailed level in the RFx. Once the RFx is awarded and a PO is created, the PO can be sent to the supplier in SUS. Thus, SUS will now be able to handle the service hierarchy. Suppliers can then create service entries at the detailed service level in the hierarchy. This scenario adds the SRM Sourcing and Supplier Enablement capabilities to the MM-SRV requisition to invoice process.

Question: We currently have significant design differences between SRM and R/3 service procurement PO's. Are these issues addressed or going to be addressed in 7.0.

This has been addressed to some extent with the new complex services scenario. Service Procurement will see significant development in the next few enhancement pack releases.

Hi Muthu,

Thank you for your response. I don't see any mention of Classic in the Notes you provided.

Also, unfortunately, my question is not answered. If you know Michael's contact info, please let me know, and I will get the question over to him.

Hi Sergui

Note 1308532 - Unable to confirm shopping carts with multiple service items -

You have a shopping cart with multiple service items which has created a backend purchase order. The service items are grouped under multiple items in the purchase order. However, when you try to create a confirmation for this shopping cart, only the services grouped under the first PO item are proposed in the confirmation screen.

Please contact sap via OSS message.

sergui:- you might be correct. it is a SAP strtergy to make every one go for SUS .. thats why they may not bring this facility.

Muthu, thank you for staying with me.

In the text of Note 1308532 that you quoted, they mention "confirmation" but there is no mention of a timesheet or time entry...

Cheers,

Serguei
