Dear experts,
We are in SRM 7.01 with backend ECC 6.05. We are using classic scenario, and we create SC in SRM for requisition, and some in ECC (depends on the scenario). We plan to utilize central contract management, in which the contract will be negotiated and created in SRM. After released the contract can be distributed to ECC. We see that from this link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm701/helpdata/EN/d1/aec52a7ef94db3929806622c413b98/frameset.htm that we will be able to do this (contract with service hierarchy in SRM which then distributed to ECC --> activating business function SRM_SERVICE_PROC_1.
I would like to confirm whether contract with service hierarchy can also be used for sourcing for SC containing item type service? Logically I think it should be able to be done. However I have doubt because SC have a slightly different structure as in SC, the service is treated as flat (no hierarchy), while the central contract will have hierarchy.
Can someone confirm this matter?
Best regards,
John
Request clarification before answering.
Hello,
Service item created in SC in SRM can not be sourced through the Service hierarchy items created in Central Contracts.
Only the Purchase Req with external services transferred to SRM Sourcing Cockpit in classic scenario can be sourced through Central Contract service hiearchies if the Central Contract has been distributed.
In this case the distributed contract in ECC is proposed as the source of supply but Central Contract number is also shown for tracking in Sourcing Cockpit and call-offs happen to Central Contract.
Please let me know if this clarifies.

Sushil.

Hi sushil,
If this true, this is a bit dissapointing. I thought that the whole idea to have central contract management is to be able to use the contract as sourcing both in erp and srm. I assume that if i dont use hierarchy in contract for service i will be able to use this contract as sourcing for sc service rite? Do you know whether non-hierarchy Service contract can be distributerd to erp?
Best regards,
John
Yes. This is how standard works. The reason being Services in hierarchy are negotiated to be performed together. This is how sourcing of services in hierarchy works in ECC as well. So SRM behavior confirms with ERP.
Now regarding your Q on non-hierarchy service item contract, it can be distributed to ECC. Service item in SRM Contract will result in creation of Item type D (Services) in ECC Contract.

Sushil.
Hi Sushil,
Thanks for your reply. So this scenario should work rite:
1. Contract for service created in SRM (without hierarchy), this then can be distributed to ERP
2. Let's say that contract in SRM have 5 items type service (flat), when this is distributed to ERP, will it create contract in ERP with 1 item (item category D) with 5 sub-line items for service?
3. In this case, when we create SC for in SRM, we should be able to pick this SRM contract as souce of supply rite?
4. In ERP, if I have PR service, I also should be able to pick up this distributed ERP contract as source as well, rite?
Really appreciate your confirmation on this.
Best regards,
John
Hello,
Behavior differs based on the version of ECC and also depends on if you use IDOC/SOA for replicating the Contract..
For EHP3 & lower(IDOC), 1 Service item(type D) will be created in ECC Contract for all service items of SRM Contract.
For EHP4 & Above(ESOA), 1 service item (type D) will be created in ECC Contract per service item of SRM Contract.
Also if you use IDOC in EHp4 & above, you will get the EHP3 behavior.
Yes SRM Contract can be used as the source of supply for SC in SRM and ECC distributed contract can be used as source for PR in ECC.
Thanks,
Sushil.
