Hi guys,
I'm in the process of writing a report about SAP Ariba , and I would like to know why a client that has SAP MM installed would want to integrate SAP Ariba (Sourcing and buying solutions) .In other words what are the limitations in sap mm that ariba can resolve.
Thank you

They're fundamentally different in how they approach the subject. Yes, MM could do procurement (and does) and then you can add Fiori layers, UI5 and MDM etc but this is a lot of work to get to what would be a functioning operational procurement solution. SAP Ariba gives you the holistic Source to Settle functionality, in the cloud as an excellent suite.
Functionally they operate in parallel worlds so there is almost no point doing a side by siude comparison.
Links that people have pointed to already will highlight that also.

Besides the mentioned OpenSAP course, you could check the Ariba website (Solution Brief, ...) and the Procurement / Ariba RoadMaps through the SAP-Websites ...

Hi Salma - there is a free OpenSAP course on this topic called Procurement Innovation – SAP Ariba and S/4HANA in a Nutshell - see https://open.sap.com/courses/srm2 - as it is free and SAP provides it, I recommend reviewing the course materials and seeing if it answers your questions
