SAP Ariba Supplier enablement

Dear SAP Community,

I have a requirement from a customer utilizing the SAP Ariba Supplier Management solution. They need to categorize suppliers with common characteristics into specific groups and sub-groups.

For example:

• Main groups: Vendors, IT Vendors, and Service Providers

• Under these main groups: Service Providers: Contracting, Painting, Construction

In my research, I discovered that this feature might be achievable through supplier enablement. I have a couple of questions:

1. Is supplier enablement a separate solution and license from supplier management?

2. If so, can these requirements be fulfilled through the supplier management solution?

The supplier enablement is not a feature but a process or activity, during the supplier enablement process the supplier management team can engage supplier to use Ariba, it does not require addtional license.

And regarding your requirement, you can define question (e.g. Main group, Sub group) in the Internal Supplier Request or External Supplier Registration template and mark it as search term.
