Hello,
I am trying to do a print preview of a PO through SRM 7.0 portal. In the generated PDF document, Russian letters are always printed as ####.
Even if i change the font in the smartform style to display cylliric characters (HELVCYR) , the problem is the same.
Am i missing something?
Thanks,
Hazem.
Request clarification before answering.
Did you import true type fonts that support the Cyrillic characters via report RSTXPDF2 under font families COURCYR, HELVCYR and TIMECYR as per SAP note 322998?

Hi Hazem,
Try to check your printer configurations.
I am not sure how helpful it could be but many a times everything is correct other than the pinter configurations.
tell me one thing whether in printpreview also the case is same or in PP you are able to see the Russian characters.
If this is the case then ur printer settings are not correct.
If in PP the charecters are seen as #### then the problem is in the SAP side

Hello Katoch,
I am not using a printer. I am just using the print preview from the PO screen in the SRM portal. The PDF document created does not show correct charcters in Russian.
I think the problem is at SRM side, right?
What can i do? The note 322998 is not clear enough for me.
Thanks,
Hazem.
Yes if you are checking the print preview in SAP only then the problem is at SRM side.
check these threads

also please check with your basis team for the language installation. Sometimes there can be an issue with language installation also.
One more thing which will be useful here to address the problem is
1: Whether this is an adobe form or smart form.
2: Is it your first time when you are using Russian language
hope it solves your problem

I solved the issue:
In fact it was related to the output device configured in the table TSFDEVTY. It was PDF1 which is not Unicode enabled. I replaced it with PDFUC which is unicode enabled and Russian characters are displayed correctly . This should be done for the language used to log into SRM portal.
Thanks for your help.
Hazem.
