Replace with catalog item for Non free text items

Hi gurus

I have a doubt about replacing SC items with catalog items in SOCO. I´ve seen everybody talks always about replacing SC free text items by catalog items but ... is it possible to replace SC items with material number / product id with Catalog items?

For me it makes sense that in Plan driven procurement if you run MRP you will have a PR wich can go to SOCO with product ID ... you could use Catalog in order to assign source of supply. I know you could use contracts in SRM to look for source of supply instead of Catalog but we have a requirement to look in Catalog not in contracts

Hi,

You can try yourself. When you select a requirement with material ID in the sourcing cockpit, does the button 'Replace with Catalog item' remain active or not?

Sorry Ranjan but I don´t have a system to test this functionality ... Could you please tell me if is it possible to replace SC Items with producto ID with catalog items? ...
