Hi All,
I am trying to understand the project management functionality in sourcing. I am having the following queries.
1.Supplier Involvement Check box
In project management-->schedule tab-->edit-->settings.
There is check box supplier Involvement.what is its importance.
If we check this field supplier Involvement, does supplier logon and update the task?
2.Owner
Under project management-->schedule--> we have field "owner". What happens when I add a owner as purchaser userid. does purchaser gets a event about the schedule. (I have not added any thing under collaboration tab in header except the document owner).
I did this in my trainning system I am not getting any event for the purchaing user for the task.
3.Forms query:
Under forms tab I have added a section " engineering request" , where mentioned owner as R&D department user. Does this means the only r&d user can only answer the quessionaires for this section.

Hi Abdul,
ad 1) Supplier Involvement
Nothing in projects will appear on the Suppliers workbench. The first contact with suppliers typically happens through RFx. Checking Supplier Involvement is more of an information for the owner of the task that he might have to contact the supplier to accomplish the task.
ad 2) Owner
In my test system, you have to enter the name. It depends on the search query behind the object picker really. Under the collaboration tab, you might want to add all the "contributors" to the project e.g. if you want to have their input in the forms tab, they should be added as collaborators or if you need a project approval by someone in the organization, you will need to add him as an Approver
ad 3) Forms query
The owner of the form is the person responsible for collecting the answers, drafting the questions, creating the form etc. More people will be allowed to answer the questions based on the collaborators you have added on the header tab.
Hope this answer helps, please mark it as answered if it does for future users of the forum.
Thanks,
Armin
