Product Type field in Material

Hi All,

I am doing SRM-Sourcing Masterdata Integration by CSV way. While generating CSV file for Material, PRODUCT_TYPE field is not there. But this field is functionally required for distinguishing between Product and Services.

Can anyone suggest me some alternative to achieve such functional requirement.

I’m a bit confused. The integration with SRM is only available in Sourcing 9.0.

Also, I believe the Item Type you are referring to to differentiate a line item between a material and service item was introduced in Sourcing 9.0.

Hello Anshu,

as Vikram already said I would recommend to go with Sourcing/CLM 9.0 which is planned to be general available by October 2012. There you get the possibility to distinguish between materials and services for free, further master data supported from multiple ERP systems etc. Also the integration of a CLM MA to SRM creating a Central Contract is supported in standard. I could also imagine that the initial delay of the project might be not that bad as having to do less custom solution will speed up the poject later on.

Hi Markus,

I have read the Sourcing 9.0 integration guide. It was mentioned that the distinguishing feature between Material and Services are provided at CLM MA to SRM contract level integration. But nowhere specified about the same feature at Masterdata Integration. I just want to know about is the same provided at masterdata level also.

Please update me on the same.

We do not support a service master that ad the material importer is only for materials. May it be that you are trying to implement a service master?
