Problem with PO creation if material is subjected to MPN.

Hi SRM gurus

We have replicated material as product with SRM from ECC.

Material master contains MPN profile which requires MPN number entry at the time of PO.

So we replicated MPN material in SRM as well.

While creating PO in SRM, systems asks o specify MPN number.

When we specify the same, SRM systems gives error that,MPN material is not maintained at plant level.

Error message: Line 1: Product SC100007-001 does not exist in plant 6083 or it has been flagged for deletion

Please help.

Please also check will are you able to create the manual PO in ECC using this material with same plant 6083.

If error is there in ECC then you need extend this material to the plant 6083.

Hi Naga,

The process works fine in ECC.

We cannot create MPN material code at plant code. It is standard feature of ECC.

It only contains purchasing view which is at a client level.

Based on link you have mentioned, it says we need to activate public sector functions. Our company is not in that business and many plants are already live on SRM 7.0. So is it recommended?

Hi Krishna,

Could you please activate the public sector functions in your test system first and test whether everything works fine then try to implement in production.
