PASSIVE SUBSTITUTE UNABLE TO OPEN SHOPPING CART

We are in SRM version 550 add on installation on ECC600. As a passive substitute I carried out the following steps:

- in Approval inbox clicked on "Substitute" and subsequently on Transfer substitution button at the bottom

- The original user for which I am passive substitute appears in the substitution list

- I click on the original user link

- The original user's shopping cart appears.

- I click on "Edit" button or "Work item' or "Approval" or 'Rejection" button. In most occasions nothing happens, as if these are in "Display' mode. I do not get any error message either. At times however, all these buttons work.

When I have been set up as "Active" substitute, this problem does not arise. Work item comes to my inbox and I can execute this.

The only related Note was 1168414. However it is already available in the support pack applied in our server. It does not appear to be a Workflow issue. If anyone has experienced this issue, please let me know:

- Whether it is a Java issue?

- Whether it is due to inadequate system capacity issue (as two inboxes may be in memory at a time)?

Hi there,

I'd say that an error is occurring but for some reason it is not appearring on the screen, maybe a BADI implementation is getting rid of it, maybe SAP code.

What you should do is access this transaction in the SAPGui, set breakpoint in FM BBP_PD_MSG_ADD which will tell you if

and error is being called.

If mentioned note does not work this would be your best bet.

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards,

Matthew
