Dear all,
We will use SAP Ariba SLP in the cloud connected via CIG and SAP Cloud Connector to an on premise SAP S/4 HANA RMM system.
Is SAP Ariba SLP now supporting the assignment of purchasing organization dependent partner functions ? Does the standard SAP Ariba SLP to SAP S/4 HANA integraion support the bi-directional replication of partner function assignments ? in our target SAP S/4 HANA RMM System we will have at least following three partner functions: "Ordering Address", "Invoicing party", "Goods supplier".
We need this Information for our design phase.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Michael.

Hello Anish,
there is a guide from SAP dated 2017 titled "Ariba SLP and ERP Bi-directional Integration”. This guide is saying that partner functions are “supported in Ariba SLP data model but not operationalized in SLP”. Unfortunately our project still has not received any more information from SAP what this exactly means. We are still working to connect the Ariba cloud to the on-premise S/4 system using cloud connector so we could not perform any tests on our own either.
In parallel on the functional side we have started to convince the client that it would be better to maintain all company code and purchasing organization dependent data on the S/4 side. So only supplier’s general data would be integrated from Ariba SLP to S/4. One reason we gave to support this argumentation is that there are certain partner functions which anyway are not planned to be maintained in Ariba and which need to be assigned in S/4. However on the long run when a full Source-To-Contract process will be implemented on the Ariba side assignment of purchasing organizations would need to be possible on the Ariba side at least in Ariba Sourcing since to my knowledge they are part of the contract object.
Regarding contact persons support in the Ariba SLP to S/4 integration SAP has obviously meanwhile confirmed to the client that this integration is still not supported. Note: There is a similar limitation footnote in the SAP 2017 configuration guide regarding contact persons object. One reason seems to be that business partner relations integration is still not supported (the current configuration guide is also listing this as a limitation) and we will need to link our contact persons with business partner relations in S/4.
Regards,
Michael
