P.Group default in SC !

Hi,

We are with SRM. 7.0, SP07.

Currently we dont have the option to set Purchasing group as default for the user the time of shopping cart creation as

Could anyone advise how could we proceed for this requirement ?

Hi Naga,

Along with what Krish has explained default purchase group also can be set by product categories if you do not want to set up each individual position or organization unit as responsibility in Purchase group.

Under Purchase Group position, You will see Responsibility tab as explained by Krish. In there you can maintain responsible Product Category.

How does this help?

Lets say you have 8 requester in different department purchasing always certain product category (Office Supplies) for their department. Now if you have set up default Product category Office supply to a purchase group then who ever will select Product category Office Supply that purchase group defaulted. So in future if out out 8 requester one get replace and get new position you do not have to worry about maintaining that position again in Organization structure for purchase group. Less hassle.

Hi Naga,

P.group can be defaulted at Org. Unite level or at user's position level via standard SRM Org.structure.

Go to the P.group unit in SRM org.structure which you want to make as default for the user and under the responsibility tab you can find the O & P radio buttons for organizational responsibility.

If you want to make default P.group settings at user level, select the position radio button and enter the user Position number. Then SC will be defaulted with the selected P.group for the respective user.
