One company code and multiple purchasing organizations

Hi all

I have one question and hopefully someone might be able to help with some useful advise.

Within same company code I plan to open more purchasing organizations where each of them would be responsible for respective part of organization (own set of org. unit hierarchy).

Has anyone already implemented something like this and what might be eventual traps, tricks etc.?

The reason for the question is that the project timelines will be short and we can easily get in trouble in case of unpredicted technical issues.

We are using SRM5.0, classic scenario.

Hi,

It is possible to have one company code and multiple purchasing orgnizations within one company code. This is a standard feature in SRM/ECC and I dont see any technical challange here.

Please get back with your problem areas around this, if any.

are you using contract management in your scenario

ECC and SRM mapping - assume one company code with 2 purchase organisation . no issues.

since your locations(PLANTS) determines the company code in the ECC by BADI logic while distributing the contract to ECC from SRM.

you need to consider the above point.

When you say I plan to open more purchasing organizations where each of them would be responsible for respective part of organization (own set of org. unit hierarchy). do you mean Purchasing Group, and not Purchasing Org? Responsibilities are set at the Purchasing group.

In any case, entities from one company code can exist in multiple purchasing orgs, good example would be vendors.
