OM - Difference between a Line Manager and a Hed

Hi,

I am an ABAP developer and have an OM Question. What is the difference between a Line Manager and a Head, if any? Is the Head of an Org Unit automatically the Line Manager of all employees within the Org Unit? What logic exists to find these?

Isn't this purely a local organisational and configuration matter? In the HR systems I've worked on, you can establish almost any relationship between two positions. E.g. an individual can have one or more reporting managers, an administration manager and one or more functional managers.
