Not being able to change goods recipient in a purchase order

Hi All ,

Extended classic scenario , SRM 5.0 , ECC 5.0

Consider the following scenario :

PO created in SRM and ordered -> GR done fully -> PO changed and quantity increased in the PO and  PO ordered -> Now if you go the change mode of the PO , the goods recepient field is greyed out. The deletion button for the goods recepient is also inactive. There is no way to change the goods recepient

Please let me know if there is any SAP notes for this ?

Saurav Agarwal

Hello Saurav,

as initial quantity for item PO was already confirmed, it is not possible to change goods recipient.

I assume if item quantity was not already confirmed, you should have been authorized to change goods recipient for this item.

Two solutions:

  1. create new PO items in order to select your new goods recipient,
  2. new confirmation must be done by a user having Internal Dispatcher function (users with single role SAP_EC_BBP_RECIPIENT), that is can confirm goods centrally.

Hi Laurent. ,

Thanks for the reply . But is this a standard functionality ? There could be quite a few POs whose quanity might have been increased after it has been fully receipted . So , in case the goods recipient leaves the organization , is there no way to change the PO goods recipient ? Changing the GR person is necessary because our invoice block workflow are sent to the GR persons.

Please advise.

I think so.

There is no standard way, so you can:

  • either create a report to change Requester partner,
  • or create a new PO for remaining quantities in order to select new Requester.
