No Assignment Group in Ariba CIM for central Invoice Management App

Hello experts,

I'm currently struggling with the "assignment group" filter in the app "Manage Supplier Invoices Centrally".
I have been able to synchronize the users from our Cloud Identity Service. I also created two groups specially meant for Arbia CIM in our IAS, that both start with CIM_ as a group name. I assigned the corresponding users to those two groups and tried to replicate the users and groups to our Ariba CIM system.

Unfortunately, the groups are not synchronized. Am I missing something in our transformation tab? I have copied the JSON file from SAP help. The groups block is always framed with an orange line.

Thank you so much for your help.

Christian

Hi @ChristianHeck

Thanks for providing the screenshots and details, it’s really helpful. I located your scenario on the official SAP Community, and here’s what was confirmed:

In reference to SAP documentation and community posts, it clearly states that the Assignment Group field in the Manage Supplier Invoices Centrally app does depend on groups being assigned in the Central Invoice Management (CIM) system via Cloud Identity Services (IAS).

However, simply synchronizing the groups and users from IAS does not guarantee the Assignment Group will be recognized in the Fiori app. The aggregation rules must be configured too.           No Assignment Group in Ariba CIM for central Invoice Management App

If the transformation logic or CIM group mapping is misconfigured, then groups even if they begin with CIM_may not filter properly.

However, you are on the right path with IAS user and group synchronization, but I found that the groups are not appearing because assignment group rules haven’t been set up in CIM.

To fix the issue I suggest you carry out the following:

  1. In your IAS transformation, verify that you are mapping the group.id values properly to the CIM_... The format expected by Ariba CIM orange outlines suggest schema mismatches.
  2. In Ariba Central Invoice Management, go to Configure Assignment Group Rules and create rules mapping your supplier invoices to the CIM_ group names and users.

Once the transformation and assignment group rules are correctly configured, your CIM_ groups should appear in the “Assignment Group” filter dropdown in the Manage Supplier Invoices Centrally app.

I hope this helps you solve the issue. I am happy to help if you have further questions.

If you find my response helpful, kindly accept the answer and award a Kudos to this post. Your support is appreciated.

Best regards

Chris

hello chris, We are in the same situation. We have been able to replicate the users, but with the groups the exact same thing happens. We created the groups in IAS with the prefix CIM_ and assigned the users to these groups. After reading your response, we tried to access the application "Configure Assignment Group Rules", but when we open it, we get the following error message: "Unable to load Cloud Studio, DEP_1031 Environment does not exists"  We don’t understand why it says that the environment does not exists (we ran the booster). Do you know what might be happening with this application?
