how to modify a Purchase order after approval, i need to change the item from material to service without asking for new approvals

Hi Sanaa Eljerbi,

You maintain Release indicator "2" to change the PO without new release streategy.

Dear Sanaa,

Is that an SRM extended Purchase Order or an MM PO?

1. SRM - If SRM, once you selected the Item type (Material, Service) it can't be modified.

1.1. you can modify the PO by adding a new line and deleting the existing one : this is the transparent and recommended way (triggers approval);

1.2. or by debugging directly the database: this is not recommended, as Service item replication works on a different way then the material item.

2. in ECC > MM > ME22n, you can modify the item on an ordered PO, Item category should be changed and the relevant fields (for service item category, you'll have to fill the Services tab) filled out. Still if the PO was subject to Release in MM you change will trigger approval based on the given release strategy.
