Hi All,
I am working in SRM5.0. When a PO is created from the 'Special request form' i am facing a strange issue in the line item text(product description text id ITXT). Each line break is displayed as '#'. Suppose the text is ' first line
Second line'.
Then this would be displayed as 'first line#Second line' in the text overview of the line item, as a result I can see the same in the smartforms.
The same issue is not there when the PO is created from scratch or from RFx.
Please let me know is there anything missing or any settings required for this?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi gayu_march,
I have the same problem!
We are working with SRM 7.0 add-on and ECC 6.0 and transfering 'Internal Note' from SRM to 'Item text' in PO in backend. The text will be printed out, but with # for every line break.
About one year ago SAP answered me:

Kindly refer the Note : 372606(which i attached before), where it has
details mentioned below :
"Only include unformatted text or ensure to only use formats in your
print forms which are also contained in form SYSTEM"
...
Hence to summarize, the formatting of the Texts(including Hard Return)
is not supported as such and these formatting has to be handled in the
Print Form as such.
...
this is a Known System LIMITATION when 'Texts' are being
transferred from SRM to the ERP environment.
...
Hence in this case, we are afraid if we could provide an alternate/
permanent solution on this regard.

So I never solved this problem. We avoid using line break at the moment.
If you have solved this problem during the time and could describe how, that would be very kind of you.
